founder testimonial

finding joi works to:

  1. provide resources, practices and programming for Black womxn and femme-identifying folks to identify individual and collective joy

  2. educate employers on how to create psychologically and physically safe spaces for Black womxn and femme-identifying folx to thrive in workplaces systemically not built for them

Black womxn and femmes across a range of industries are often going above and beyond their mental and physical limits for their occupations, families, and communities due to historical stigmas of toxic strength. This history of toxic strength has led to disproportionate rates of physical and mental health illnesses such as cardiovascular disease, Lupus, and anxiety disorder to name a few. This has only been exacerbated over the past few years amongst the reality of supporting the dual pandemic cf COVID-19 and continued racial injustices.

The well-being of Black womxn and femmes within the workplace should reflect the multi-faceted care that they continue to provide in their daily lives. Through finding joi’s custom content, the fj community will receive tailored newsletters, custom digital content (via Patreon, Instagram, and YouTube), and limited in-person events and workshops sharing stories and providing access to resources to support physical and mental-wellbeing.
